I agree with Mark's assessment. Notice the --force option he added. This
will force installation of the rpm over the non-functioning samba install
that you currently have. Without the --force option, redhat rpm might
refuse to install the rpms because it will think that they are already
installed. Of course, you can also get the rpm from
numerous places on the net, such as ftp.redhat.com, if you don't have the
CD on hand.
