The Long-Awaited CJKV Information Processing is Released

SEBASTOPOL, CA-Ken Lunde's 1993 book Understanding Japanese Information
Processing quickly became the indispensable reference for software
developers creating products for the Japanese market. Developers,
project managers, and translators demanded a Japanese language edition,
and in 1995 Nihongo Jyouhou Shori was released. Unfortunately for those
developers straddling the Pacific, Understanding Japanese Information
Processing has been unavailable for more than a year, while Lunde
worked on this new, updated and expanded edition: CJKV Information
Processing (O'Reilly, $ 64.95). But according to Lunde, it was worth
the wait.

In addition to thorough coverage of the topic, invaluable
appendixes-everything from code conversion tables, character set
tables, and character set indexes, to mapping tables, Perl code
examples, and a glossary-will make this a dog-eared reference in no
time.

About the Author

Ken Lunde received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in linguistics in
1994 with a dissertation entitled, Prescriptive Kanji Simplification.
He also authored Understanding Japanese Information Processing
(O'Reilly, 1993). He joined Adobe Systems Incorporated in 1991, and is
currently Manager, CJKV Type Development.
