I was copying a bunch of files from the C drive to an external drive using
the usual Windows method of dragging and dropping a folder icon, but a few
subdirectories were copied empty so that the files were missing in the
copy. There was no error message or warning. That struck me as odd. A
second problem was that sometimes Windows would stop copying and it would
tell me that it was unable to read the source drive. That seemed very
peculiar because if I went to the subdirectory that failed to copy and
simply copied those files to the target location, they would copy
instantly with no error.
This seems to be more than typical Windows mediocrity. Have any of you
seen this before? Any idea what is wrong?
Mike
